Archaeology and Surveys
In 2010 with financial assistance from Historic Scotland an archaeological walkover study was carried out.
This identified about 60 potential sites worth further exploration. A laser survey was carried out in the cave. where there are early religious symbols carved in the wall. A topographical survey of the complete island with an accuracy to within millimeters was undertaken.
The trustees have a fully costed plan for further exploration over a five year period when the funds are available to carry out this research. We hope for some philanthropic support or organisation shares our curiosity and provides the means to convert the speculation into knowledge.
